The SCY Innovation Team have been building a map of innovative organisations working within the Yorkshire area as part of the ongoing Innovate York programme. This map has been built using Google Maps: My Places.
Creating the map
The data presented on the map was gathered by sending out an Innovation Survey, developed by the SCY Innovation Team in order to capture a picture of current innovation in Yorkshire - along with the region’s ambitions for the future.

Innovate York has a new logo (above)! As well as designing a new logo, over the last week the Innovation Team were busy spreading the word about the programme from events in Harrogate all the way to workshops in Cape Town!

‘Innovate York’ is a two year programme delivered by SCY and the City of York Council, funded by City of York Council's Delivery and Innovation Fund.
The five main themes of ‘Innovate York’ are:
Economic Impact;
Community Engagement;
Workforce Development;
Building Capability and Infrastructure;
Growing the Innovation Community.
These may sound fairly broad but this breadth reflects the ambitious nature of the programme’s aims.
The themes can be broken down into some significant deliverables and priorities. SCY have already made considerable progress in delivering economic... Read more

Last week was a busy time for the Innovation Team at SCY and for Innovate York (the new name for the Innovation Catalyst Programme). I say ‘Innovation Team’ because we are now complete! On March 11th Claire Eldred joined SCY as Innovation Project Manager.
