Biomation - A Digital Youth Arts Project

Biomation, a pioneering science and art projects using film, animation and music are currently busy planning the latest Biomation project to take place in York.

The project will involve working with a group of young people and Bron Urwin at Lime Trees, York, and investigating the nature of ‘friendship’ and promises to produce another useful and insightful piece.

Biomation’s previous projects include:

Biomation at Eureka! the National Children’s Museum
The Biomation exhibition unit  was recently delivered to Eureka! in Halifax, for inclusion into their Me and My Body gallery. This is really great news as it guarantees wide exposure for the Biomation films.

Deaf Communication Films
The team recently finished a second film on deaf communication – they were really pleased with this film on which they further developed their animation style and raised their production value. As always, great support was provided by Lime Trees and the Deaf Team and a group of keen young deaf animators to make it all happen. See the film on the Blog.

Deaffest 2010
Both deaf communication films have been selected for inclusion in Deaffest 2010 which is the premier Deaf film festival in the UK. They will be screened at the end of this month in Wolverhampton. As a result of this Biomation have had interest in these films which could result in massive exposure in the United States.

Aspergers Film Published
Jessica Kingsley Publishing are publishing the award-winning Aspergers film this July, making the DVD available for general purchase and further promoting an already successful film (currently 16500 youtube hits!)

Biomation are continually looking for new ways to develop and to reach new audiences. If a Biomation could help you to communicate in an original, fun and accessible way, please get in touch – The team would love to hear your ideas…
